Summer Internship Oppurtunities - Therapeutic Camp for Kids with ADHD

Just thought I would pass this along as we still have a few spots to fill. Its a great oppurtunity to get some psych-related experience and a great resume booster if you're looking to go on to grad school. More information on the Center can be obtained by going to the website: http://ccf.buffalo.edu

The Center for Children & Families at the University at Buffalo is currently recruiting for several counselor positions in our Summer Treatment Program (STP). Positions are available to undergraduate or recent graduates in psychology, education, counseling, and related majors.

The STP is a camp for children and adolescents ages 6-15 with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Conduct Disorder (CD), or Oppositional-Defiant Disorder (ODD).  Counselors implement behavior modification treatment during recreational
activities, and coach the following sports: basketball, soccer, softball, and swimming.

The STP also includes an academic component where special education teachers and aides implement behavior modification programs that are designed to treat children's problems in a classroom context.

The STP is a rewarding, fun, and exciting way to gain clinical experience working with kids!

•     Friday, June 20, 2008 through Saturday, August 16, 2008
•     7:30 AM until 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday (and on three Saturdays).
•     In addition, 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM one evening each week while parents participate in weekly parent training groups.
•     $2500 stipends are available for counselors and aides.
•     Academic course credit can often be arranged through your school or SUNY at Buffalo.

The selection process is competitive; thus interested students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.  We are looking for intelligent, hard working, dedicated people who not only have experience working with children, but who are also knowledgeable about sports such that they can appropriately coach and maintain stats on each child.
